【摘要】:Thisguidesetsforthminimumstandardrequirementsforuseinlocalcodesandordinancesrelatingtoresidentialoutdoorswimmingpools,hottubs,andspas.Thisguidedoesnothavetheeffectoflaw,norisitintendedtosupersedelocalcodesandordinancesofamorerestrictivenature.Studies,aslistedinAnnexA1,havebeenreferencedasthebasesforcertainrecommendationsinthisguideandwillassistthosewhointendtoprovideprotectionagainstdrowningsandnear-drowningsbyrestrictingaccesstochildrenundertheageoffiveyearsinresidentialswimmingpools,spas,andhottubs.Thiswouldinclude,butnotbelimitedto,stateandlocalgovernments,modelcodeorganizations,buildingcodegroups,andconsumers.Itisunderstoodthattheformatwillvarydependinguponthespecificuseandlocalconditions.1.1Thisguideprovidesrecommendedminimumrequirementsforvarioustypesoffencesforresidentialoutdoorswimmingpools,hottubs,andspas.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesstatedinbracketsareforinformationonly.
