【摘要】:Althoughitispossibletoobserveandmeasureeachoftheseveralcharacteristicsofadetectorunderdifferentanduniqueconditions,itistheintentofthispracticethatacompletesetofdetectorspecificationsshouldbeobtainedatthesameoperatingconditions.Itshouldbenotedalsothattospecifyadetectorrsquo;capabilitycompletely,itsperformanceshouldbemeasuredatseveralsetsofconditionswithintheusefulrangeofthedetector.Thetermsandtestsdescribedinthispracticearesufficientlygeneralsothattheymaybeusedatwhateverconditionsmaybechosenforotherreasons.Linearityandspeedofresponseoftherecorderusedshouldbesuchthatitdoesnotdistortorotherwiseinterferewiththeperformanceofthedetector.Effectiverecorderresponse,Refs.(5,6)inparticular,shouldbesufficientlyfastthatitcanbeneglectedinsensitivityofmeasurements.Ifadditionalamplifiersareusedbetweenthedetectorandthefinalreadoutdevice,theircharacteristicsshouldalsofirstbeestablished.1.1Thispracticeisintendedtoserveasaguideforthetestingoftheperformanceofathermalconductivitydetector(TCD)usedasthedetectioncomponentofagaschromatographicsystem.1.2Thispracticeisdirectlyapplicabletothermalconductivitydetectorswhichemployfilament(hotwire)orthermistorsensingelements.1.3Thispracticeisintendedtodescribetheperformanceofthedetectoritselfindependentlyofthechromatographiccolumn,intermswhichtheanalystcanusetopredictoverallsystemperformancewhenthedetectoriscoupledtothecolumnandotherchromatographysystemcomponents.1.4Forgeneralgaschromatographicprocedures,PracticeE260shouldbefollowedexceptwherespecificchangesarerecommendedhereinfortheuseofaTCD.FordefinitionsofgaschromatographyanditsvarioustermsseePracticeE355.1.5Forgeneralinformationconcerningtheprinciples,construction,andoperationofTCDseeRefs.().1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafetyinformation,seeSection4.
